The Woodwork Workshop is quite an unusual business venture, there really aren’t that many similar businesses in the UK.
Andrew Wilson is a quality builder, specialising in the renovation and restoration of period properties.
Partly as means of delivering on his building projects, and partly as a passion & hobby for woodworking, he began to assemble a comprehensive collection of industrial quality machinery & tools in his unit in Todmorden on the Lancashire / West Yorkshire border.
Once he’d completed his collection and the rest of the work he set out to do on his workshop, he saw there could be an opportunity to rent it out to other woodworking professionals for short time hire.
The website is laid out in rows of either a single or two-column blocked design, which completely fills the width of the page when viewed on a laptop or other large screen device.
The overall design is quite minimalist, as its target audience is likely to just want to be able to get the “information they need to make a decision” as quickly and easily as possible. Much like all audiences to be honest!
There is an Availability & Booking Calendar which can be synchronised with other calendars such as Google Calendar. It keeps itself up to date automatically and shades out days that have already passed.
At the end of the project, I also created a Business Card design for the owner, providing ‘Print Ready’ files for him to take to his printer.
